Approaching Trencrom Hill: We turn to look back towards the north coast |

A steep climb: Luckily the path skirts the edge. We'll return to climb it some day. |

Weathertop: We were waiting for Orc raiders to descend on us. |

Ninnes Bridge: This historic chapel is now a private house beside the footpath |

Through the garden: A row of standing stones marks the route to a stile |

In the hill's shadow: Trencrom still towers over us |

Change of scene: We're moving off the moorland and onto fertile, recently-ploughed farmland instead |

Parched earth: It's actually quite intimidating - and a tough walking surface, like wet sand |

The end in sight: Our first misty glimpse of St Michael's Mount on the horizon |

Signs of spring: The path led us past fields and fields of daffodils and narcissi |

Hide and seek: This steep downhill climb took us underneath a veritable forest of ancient gorse bushes |

Now we've got to climb up: Strange how bridges over tiny streams always provoke these thoughts |

Ever closer Ignore the sheep, it's the view of St Michael's Mount you want... |

Not in Provence: And these plants aren't lavender, but it's a very pretty view just the same |

You want me to go where? Believe it or not, the path goes down there |
